IPSWICH — The Cemetery Commission voted unanimously April 8 to purchase a 30-foot flagpole for Southside Cemetery and to ban homemade stones from placement. Theodore Lemieux moved both measures, with Sean Cronin seconding. The commission heard updates on completed storage building repairs (new siding, roof, and doors installed) and Community Gardens at Pony Express at full occupancy; however, $6,000 from the cemetery budget was spent on the gardens, with staff seeking town reimbursement.
Trust fund balances were reviewed: Sale D-3 at $133,000, T-12 at $212,000, and U-12 at $590,000.
