Committee Advances Plan for Candlewood Road Acquisition

IPSWICH — Open Space Committee expects $350,000 state grant to advance Candlewood property acquisition. Open Space Program Manager Asma Syed reported positive feedback from the state Department of Environmental Protection on the drinking water supply protection grant application. The committee discussed passive recreation options including trails and disc golf for the former golf course property.

The acquisition requires October Special Town Meeting approval of the Town's $850,000 share of the $1.8 million total purchase price.
