Finance Committee reviews 2027 town budgets from recreation and water departments

IPSWICH — Finance Committee reviews departmental budgets for 2027. Recreation Director Kerrie Bates discussed campus Ipswich and the restoration of visitors center grant funding. Water and Wastewater Director Vicki Halmen reported enterprise reserves of approximately nine months and approximately 500 lead pipes remaining in the system.

The department is pursuing options to improve water pressure across town and has engaged a consultant to update a cost estimate for outfall relocation, initially approximated at $15 million.
