IPSWICH — The Finance Committee heard the proposed FY27 school budget showing a 2.1 percent increase on March 12. Sasha Sopic of the School Committee and the superintendent presented the proposal and discussed override strategies as part of strategic planning. Tom Markham, Director of Finance and Operations for Ipswich Public Schools, said the Winthrop Modular Project would not move forward and the HVAC/electrification project had been removed in favor of boiler replacements.

Carl Nylen of the Climate Change Committee raised concerns about insufficient analysis of alternatives, return on investment, and available grants before the HVAC decision. The committee also discussed turf fields, elementary facilities, AP courses, and busing fees.
