Ipswich housing boards vote to propose transfer tax on luxury sales. Chair C. Allen presented a local transfer fee proposal on residential and commercial properties sold above $1 million.

The Affordable Housing Trust voted 4-0 in favor; the Ipswich Housing Partnership voted 7-0 in favor. Both entities plan to draft a town meeting article for a home rule petition to implement the fee and discussed encouraging the Select Board to write state legislators in support of pending real estate transfer tax legislation.
