Planning Board · Meeting of July 9, 2026
IPSWICH — Planning Board approved High Street apartment conversion and tree removal on Argilla Road. The board unanimously granted a special permit allowing James McCormack to convert the second floor of his commercial building at 196 High Street from office space into a two-bedroom residential rental unit, shifting the property to mixed-use; Planning Director Alan Manoian noted the rear sits within the FEMA flood plain and the board waived the loading zone size requirement. The board also unanimously approved removal of three trees at 190 Argilla Road for driveway access.
The town has hired Aalin Hubbard as housing coordinator and is initiating the Housing Production Plan process, targeting completion by December 2026.
