Planning Board ordered independent review of $22.2M water pump station project.
Planning Board · Meeting of September 3, 2026
IPSWICH — Planning Board ordered independent review of $22.2M water pump station project. After residents raised concerns about construction near homes and neighborhood impacts, Chair Toni Mooradd and the board voted unanimously to engage a third-party reviewer for the stormwater management plan and request landscape design review from the Shade Tree and Beautification Committee. The project, funded by $15 million in FEMA grants and $7.2 million approved by the town, will replace an aging pump station at 25 Green Street, located in a flood plain and not designed to withstand flooding, with a new primary pump station and smaller resilient station at 65 East Street.
The public hearing continues September 24, 2026.
