IPSWICH — Select Board approves 67 commercial shellfish permits and two lottery applicants. Chair Charles Surpitski, Vice Chair Michael Dougherty, Sarah Player, and Linda Alexson voted unanimously 4-0 to grant the permits for the year beginning April 1, and voted 3-0-1 to approve commercial licenses for individuals over 70, with Alexson abstaining. Interim Town Manager Thomas Younger presented the FY27 Capital Plan, described as primarily maintenance-focused, noting a $45,000 approved snow-and-ice transfer and approximately $70,000 in additional internal transfers needed.
Dougherty questioned whether newly funded Police Department items should be deferred unless safety-related, and the Board requested further clarifications before finalizing the plan on March 16. Community meet-and-greet sessions with three Town Manager candidates are scheduled for March 18 and March 21.
