IPSWICH — The Select Board approved a provisional commercial shellfish permit for Brian Zilinsky, contingent on confirmation he intends to clam through March 2026, and unanimously authorized his application for the April 2026 permit lottery. Chair Charles Surpitski led the five-member board through routine business including approval of five prior meeting minutes and advancement of the Town Manager search, in which Vice Chair Michael Dougherty and member Carl Nylen reported 40 applications received with 14 candidates selected for first-round interviews during February break. Public Works Director Rick Clarke presented a trash contract update noting all three bidders are moving toward automation, with a $30-per-container state grant available, and detailed two concept alternatives for Central and South Main Streets traffic safety improvements.
