IPSWICH — Select Board interviews three Town Manager finalists ahead of April 9 deliberation. The Board heard from Steve Bartha, former Town Manager in Danvers and Lexington; Angus Jennings, Chief Financial Officer in West Newbury and Hampden, Maine; and Brendan Sweeney, current Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director in Boxford and a lifelong Ipswich resident. All three candidates addressed budget management, capital projects, economic development, affordable housing, and community engagement.
The Board identified continuity, staff morale improvement, organizational structure, and community visibility as key expectations for the incoming Town Manager.
