Select Board recommends all warrant articles except two.

Select Board (Formerly Board of Selectmen) · Meeting of April 6, 2026

IPSWICH — Select Board recommends most warrant articles for 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Chair Charles Surpitski and four fellow members voted unanimously on Articles 1 through 12, with Article 13, authorizing borrowing for Public Safety Building construction, passing 4-1, Vice Chair Michael Dougherty opposed due to affordability concerns. The Board voted 5-0 to recommend indefinite postponement of Article 15 on Electric Light Department governance, noting that presenting a report and requesting action the same evening was inappropriate.

The Board opposed Article 16, regarding free resident beach access, by 3-2, and opposed Articles 17 and 18 unanimously.
