Select Board sets six goals for fiscal 2027, defers charter review
Select Board (Formerly Board of Selectmen) · Meeting of June 10, 2026
Ipswich Select Board adopts six fiscal 2027 goals after acknowledging most prior-year targets went unmet. Chair Mike Dougherty led the board through a SMART goal-setting framework, carrying forward electric light governance and downtown community planning while deferring a formal charter commission vote pending a spring 2027 review. The board will evaluate staff organizational needs and act on a strategic plan by spring, finalize a downtown safety plan by summer, and review select board policies by summer 2027.
A one-day liquor license for Donald Rivet at the Ipswich Masonic Temple for June 14 passed 5-0. The board will vote on the goals at its June 22 meeting.
