Select Board (Formerly Board of Selectmen) · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Ipswich Select Board voted 4-1 to reduce winter water rates effective October 1, setting the residential rate at $11.69 per 100 cubic feet despite Member Linda D. Alexson's objection to the timing. The reduction cuts the seasonal rate factor from 1.5 to 1.3, intended to narrow the gap between winter and summer bills while maintaining the Water Department's annual revenue target and conservation incentives.
The Board also unanimously backed the Town Wharf seawall project, voting to support Pier Option 2 and Wall Option 1 with an estimated $3.4 million construction cost split 80 percent state and 20 percent local.
