IPSWICH — Water & Wastewater Subcommittee recommends sewer extension, maintains seasonal water rate policy. The subcommittee voted 5-0 to recommend approval of a 491-foot sewer extension on Jeffreys Neck Road requested by residents. In a unanimous vote, the subcommittee recommended continuation of the 1.5 seasonal rate factor for 2026, reflecting the impact of rising base rates for capital improvements.
The subcommittee also received updates on two major water infrastructure projects: the Town Wharf Sewer Pump Station Relocation, funded by a $15 million FEMA Hazard Mitigation grant, and the Drinking Water Treatment Plant, authorized at $49.6 million with bid authorization expected in late April.
