Finance Committee · Meeting of August 26, 2026

Ipswich tri-board meeting outlined structural changes to budget planning. The Finance, Select and School committees discussed a new timeline for fiscal year 2028 preparations, with Town Manager Brendan Sweeney indicating projections begin in September and a Tri-Board capital review occurs in January. Michael Dougherty, Select Board Chair, stressed that FY28 will present significant financial challenges.

The boards received a clean FY25 audit report with no findings. The Feoffees endowment fund reported approximately 50 million dollars in market value, up from 22 million in 2012, with a 13.4 percent return and 1.3 million dollars in distributions this year.
