IPSWICH — Waterways Advisory Committee appoints DiMento secretary, Morin vice chair. At its January 14 meeting, the committee unanimously voted to name Jenna DiMento Secretary and Dave Morin Vice Chairman. The panel also approved a strategy to pursue federal dredging of the Ipswich River, with Chairman Chris Murray drafting a letter to State Senator Tarr explaining the project's safety and economic impact on shellfish harvesting and the town's commercial boating operations.
Harbormaster Matt Bodwell reported approving more than 300 mooring renewals; the patrol boat is undergoing repairs and electronics upgrades in Gloucester. The Seaport Commercial Wharf Engineering Grant project has completed field work and is developing schematic waterfront layouts, though potential reconfiguration of the dinghy dock may reduce available mooring spots.
