Waterways Advisory Committee · Meeting of June 10, 2026

IPSWICH — The Ipswich Waterways Advisory Committee advanced planning for a commercial wharf and wall grant project, targeting the 2028 budget with backing from 40 harvesters and six waterfront businesses. Committee Chair Chris Murray and fellow members discussed the Seaport Commercial Wharf Engineering Grant, which would replace a deteriorating river wall while constructing a new commercial wharf. Letters of support came from the Town Manager, Select Board, Planning Board, Harbormaster, and the committee itself.

The federal grant would cover 80 percent of the combined project, reducing the town's cost to 20 percent; without it, the town would bear 100 percent of wall-replacement costs. The committee also reported 1,046 active mooring permits, with 24 outstanding payments due by month-end.
