Zoning Board approves height variance for Saltmarsh Road dwelling addition

Ipswich Zoning Board unanimously approved a special permit for a residential height increase. Chair Robert Gambale and the five-member board cleared a proposal by Red Barn Architecture on behalf of Michael Ferguson to add a second story to 3 Saltmarsh Road, raising the dwelling from 11 feet 10 inches to a maximum of 25 feet while keeping bedroom count unchanged. A second hearing for 112 Town Farm Road, where applicant Dawn Ansello sought relief on a basketball court setback variance, was continued to April 16 to allow Conservation Commission review before the board renders a final decision.
